Hi there!
For the last five years, I've been teaching CPR to individuals across various professions. As an instructor for the American Heart Association (AHA), I'm able to provide the most trusted and widely-accepted CPR certification available. On top of that, I've personally utilized CPR techniques to save the lives of multiple people during my time as an emergency medical technician (EMT). As an anatomy and physiology professor, I also bring a fun and engaging approach to my teachings, so you can be sure that by the end of the class, you'll know how to confidently apply CPR to save a life.
Now, you may be wondering - why should I become certified? The answer is simple - in the event of an emergency, knowing how to potentially save a life can provide a sense of preparedness and peace of mind. Those first few minutes are crucial when it comes to CPR, and having the know-how could potentially make all the difference.
Who should become certified? Everyone! Whether you're in the medical field or not, learning the basic steps of CPR could potentially help you save the life of someone you care about - be it a family member, friend, or even a stranger.
So, what can you expect to learn in my CPR class? Well, you'll come away with the knowledge necessary to administer CPR to individuals of any age (from infants to elderly), properly employ an automated external defibrillator (AED), and even save a choking victim.
At the AHA, we offer two types of certifications:
1. For healthcare workers - the BLS CPR/AED Certification (covering adults, children, and infants), as well as choking prevention.
2. For non-healthcare workers - the Heartsaver CPR AED Certification (covering adults, children, and infants), also including choking prevention.
I hope this information has been helpful, and I'm excited to have the opportunity to teach you how to potentially save a life!
