Last year, we acquired a property in East Bay that had undergone a complete interior renovation by the previous owner without the necessary permits. A few weeks into our continued remodeling efforts, we were red tagged by an inspector and given 10 days to either seek permits or undo the changes. Our friend recommended Sam, an architect, who we promptly contacted. Within a couple of days, Sam provided us with a reasonable quote and timeframe for completing the necessary plans. He also reached out to the inspector for an extension since the structural engineers required more time. He successfully obtained the extension and promptly submitted the plans. Approval from the sanitation department was crucial before we could apply for a building permit, but Sam knew the process well and helped us secure approval without any changes to the original plans. While there were some delays during the entire approval process, Sam’s skillful handling of the situation and excellent communication made it easier to manage. Besides, we appreciated Sam's exemplary communication skills, willingness to listen, offer good advice and consistent responsiveness to phone calls, SMS messages, and emails. His payment terms were reasonable too. We would gladly use his services again and recommend him to others.
