As a classically-trained violinist and teacher, I possess an extensive knowledge of the grand tradition of violin playing. My education began under the tutelage of Mr. Bernard Minzer, who had learned under Mishel Piastro - a former concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic and a distinguished student of the renowned Leopold Auer. Later, I completed my violin studies with Prof. Hendrik de Blij - a highly respected Dutch violinist and teacher. During this time, I also had the honor of serving as Prof. de Blij’s violin teaching assistant, where I worked with talented high school students preparing to audition for major music conservatories.
My teaching philosophy and methods are rooted in the very best of both the Franco-Belgian and Russian schools of traditional, classical violin playing. It brings me immense satisfaction and joy to share the gift of beautiful music with my students and witness their growth and development as skilled violinists.

With no prior experience or a violin, I approached Alex. He equipped me with knowledge on purchasing an inexpensive but high-quality violin as well as a lesson book. His teachings included the correct body posture, bow hold and instrument care. Every lesson, we pinpointed problematic areas and he provided me with remedies to practice at home, which resulted in notable improvements. My child, who is five years of age, has been receiving private violin lessons with Alex. As a result of his distinct teaching method, my son has developed a keen interest in learning the instrument.
