Alec's Chess Club

For the past three years, my son (who is now 13) has been receiving virtual chess lessons from Coach Alec at Alec's Chess Club. When the pandemic hit and we were looking for a stimulating yet enjoyable chess lesson environment that also offered the chance to participate in rated chess tournaments, Alec's Chess Club was the ideal choice. My son had access to weekly lessons and, when his schedule allowed (with Scouts and sports also on the agenda), he was able to join in on the weekly weekend chess tournament. Coach Alec made the private lessons both fun and challenging, and his patience ensured that the experience was enjoyable. I particularly appreciated how the tournaments primarily drew participants from elementary to middle school, meaning that the games were competitive and a great learning experience without the potential for demoralization (as was sometimes the case when playing at the local chess club with adults). Coach Alec cares greatly for his students, even holding special tournaments with prizes and trophies! Overall, I highly recommend Alec's Chess Club for lessons.

Alec's Chess Club is unparalleled. It was the sole Chess club accessible in my vicinity, and it exceeded my expectations. Our acquaintance with Alec dates back to 2017 when my son commenced taking lessons from him, both in-person and virtually.
