Description:

Gain proficiency in practicing yoga according to your abilities and achieving your personal goals. My expertise lies in working with individuals who have health concerns such as disabilities, injuries or mental health issues. If you're new to yoga, I can assist you in developing proper techniques.

I can help you with several aspects, including:

- Guiding you through a yoga session
- Teaching you how to practice yoga independently and establish a routine
- Preparing you for a live or recorded yoga class, to ensure your participation is safe and effective

I possess the required skills to teach yoga in water and through online video sessions. As a licensed Occupational Therapist in MA, I have extensive experience in using yoga as a form of treatment.

In light of COVID-19, I follow strict precautions. Non-vaccinated clients must wear masks covering their mouth and nose at all times, and so must I. However, if all members present show evidence of vaccination, I am comfortable with no masks. Before meeting, I require that none of us display any COVID-related symptoms in the previous 24 hours.

Arranging an open-air yoga session with Rick proved to be an amazing adventure. He was exceedingly accommodating when it came to setting a time that worked for everyone, taking into account our various physical limitations. During the hour-long class, we were introduced to a plethora of stretching routines, basic yoga positions, and breathing exercises. The fees were also quite reasonable, and I wouldn't hesitate to repeat the experience.

A few weeks ago, I began attending sessions with Rick to focus on enhancing my flexibility, strength, and self care regime. Due to being relatively inactive during COVID, typical tasks proved to be challenging, which Rick has already significantly improved. It feels amazing to be active again, and I am grateful that I chose Rick as my trainer. He thoroughly acquainted himself with my physical limitations, making him an excellent choice for anyone looking for a trauma-sensitive yoga experience, particularly those with disabilities. I now feel more connected with both my mind and body, grounded in my practice. Furthermore, I appreciate that Rick provides both in-person and virtual sessions, which enables me to practice even on days when I do not want to commute.

For several years, Rick Frank served as my Aqua Yoga instructor at the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital pool in Charlestown, Boston. Combining his expertise in Yoga and Occupational Therapy, Rick catered to students seeking relief from medical ailments. I joined this class for precisely that reason - I needed help with my severe scoliosis and herniated discs, which resulted in poor posture and chronic pain. Accessible and Adaptive Yoga, designed for those with physical limitations, allowed me and others to harness the therapeutic benefits of Yoga. The instructor tailored each exercise to suit the individual's ability, considering their unique set of limitations. Throughout the class, Rick maintained a jovial demeanor, which enhanced our experience. Under his guidance, I found myself improving my posture and building my muscles. The class fostered a sense of community, and the calming effect of meditating while floating on water enhanced my experience. When the pandemic hit, however, the pool closed, and the gains we had made were lost. In retrospect, joining Rick's class was a blessing, and I recommend it to everyone.
