Scott Bemis Tutoring

With more than eight years of experience in teaching and tutoring, I have proficiently instructed students in math, physics, French, English, and jazz piano. Both in the United States and abroad in France, I have worked with students of all ages, demonstrating a strong ability to communicate subject matter effectively. My credentials include earning a 4 on both the AP calculus and AP statistics tests, touring internationally with award-winning jazz bands, and engaging in a three-month internship in semiconductor research. I have also worked as a project manager and software engineer for HBO. With a B.S. in physics earned with honors from Santa Clara University, I double majored in physics and French, studying in Nantes, France, for a semester in my junior year. In college, I undertook the most rigorous math and physics courses on topics such as vector calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, analytical mechanics, computational mechanics, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics, which allowed me to assist fellow students with their coursework. I began teaching as a result of my love for learning and helping people of all ages. I possess a keen ability to pinpoint knowledge gaps within a student's understanding of a subject and effectively address them. Additionally, as a member of a family of teachers, I am committed to education and fostering growth within my students. In France, I taught English, math, and physics while offering individualized one-on-one tutoring sessions in both French and English.
