Having graduated from California State University of Northridge with a degree in Jazz Studies, Garrett has been tutored by an array of musicians such as Rob Lockart, Katisse Buckingham, and Bob Sheppard. Additionally, he has gained professional experience by collaborating with various artists including jazz vocalist Barbara Morrison and Jimmy Borges, pop singer/songwriter Melissa Manchester, indie band Mild High Club, and the renowned Filipino pop star NIKI, among others.

Garrett's teaching is amazing! During my elementary and middle school years, I played the clarinet. However, as a 22-year-old full-time worker, I was somewhat out of practice. Nonetheless, I was eager to resume playing and Garrett was understanding and helpful in getting me back on track with the instrument. Not only did I improve from my earlier years, but Garrett also made the entire experience of playing the clarinet enjoyable and exhilarating. He is flexible with scheduling and an outstanding instructor. Without any doubt, you will not regret choosing him as your teacher!
