The January Lanterns

My wife and I won an "in-home" concert by The January Lanterns at the Coyote Hill Boots and Bids fundraiser in 2020. Although we were unfamiliar with the band, we both love music and entertaining, so we decided to host the concert at our home in the fall of 2021. From start to finish, Kristen and Andrew were incredibly accommodating, gracious, and talented. They arrived an hour ahead of time to set up their equipment and soundcheck on our beautiful back patio. As our guests arrived, we gathered drinks and food and settled in for the performance. We had no expectations, and neither did our guests, but what followed was pure magic. Kristen's voice carried beautifully in the crisp autumn air, and their instrument-playing was truly artful. True troubadours, they entertained us with stories both through their original music and cover songs. As the night went on, they also shared their personal struggles and love story in a way that touched all of us - many of us shed tears. We were all captivated. We will always be grateful to Kristen and Andrew for supporting Coyote Hill and creating a memorable night for us and our guests.
