After contacting the company, I received a prompt response that same night, followed by a call from the owner the next day. During our FaceTime conversation, I showed him the 3.5ft by 8ft hardwood patch that needed filling, but he declined to take on the job. Instead, he suggested sanding and restaining the entire floor, which was not feasible for me since I had recently had all the hardwoods done without any transitions four years ago. Despite explaining the patch's isolated location, he remained firm on his stance and expressed his preference for matching the stain across the entire surface. He informed me that he was an "all or nothing guy" and described the job as "high risk, low reward" due to the potential for customer dissatisfaction with patches. While initially disappointed, I appreciated his honesty. Having had two other companies fix similar patches over the past four years without any visible differences, I am confident in my choice to seek other alternatives that align with my needs as a perfectionist.

After promptly responding to us and arranging an estimate, we initially decided to proceed with the work. However, we ultimately changed our minds before it began and left a cancellation message, yet never received a response. Unfortunately, they retained our 50% deposit without any communication, which would have been appreciated given our intention to have the work done at some point. As an update, we received a call from Rob today. He assured us that he never keeps deposits and will be returning it, which we find to be more than reasonable. Due to scheduling conflicts with our home's painting, we had to cancel the work initially, but we do intend to have it done in the future and will undoubtedly choose Rob.
