About
I am a professional drum instructor with over 22 years of experience behind a drum set, a music performance Bachelor's degree, and 8+ years of teaching and performance experience. My drum lessons are designed for all ages and skill levels and are engaging and professional. My teaching method has been proven, allowing my students to confidently play along with their favorite songs, read music from the page, and perform in bands.I am fun, encouraging, and patient with all of my students, building great relationships with them. I am always willing to work at the pace needed for the student to succeed, ensuring they feel comfortable and confident as they learn.
My students love their lessons so much that they tend to continue with me for a long time. On average, my students take lessons for 2 years, and 63% of them continue with me for at least a year. Additionally, 30% of my students continue with me for 3+ years.
I am passionate about sharing my love for music and my knowledge of drums with my students. Witnessing a student have a "light bulb" moment during a lesson and seeing the smile of accomplishment form on their face never gets old. It is especially rewarding to watch shy or cautious students come out of their shells and develop newfound confidence through their drumming.

Spencer is an excellent teacher for our son during his drum lessons every week. He assigns practicable homework for our child to work on at home and handles each student with professionalism and patience, taking into consideration their individual personalities. He responds swiftly to messages via email and text, and sends regular reminders if requested. Additionally, he sends monthly tuition emails to keep us informed. He is undoubtedly a godsend to our son and a valuable asset.
