My expertise lies in teaching contemporary guitar techniques that prepare my students to play alongside other musicians across all genres. Whether you're a relative newcomer or a seasoned professional, my instruction will help you reach your desired outcome. From crafting original compositions to confidently improvising through a 12 bar blues, navigating jazz changes or demonstrating modern metal techniques, my concise and unique approach simplifies the complexities of theory, making it attainable to all.

I conduct my in-person lessons Monday through Friday from my stunning home studio nestled in the picturesque Discovery Heights section of Anchorage, Alaska. As an added layer of safety, I have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and strictly adhere to all CDC guidelines. My abilities and success extend beyond Anchorage, with many glowing reviews about my teaching in the Falls Church, Herndon, and Washington DC areas.

My passion is teaching and I'm beyond grateful that I'm able to make a career out of it. What sets private lessons apart from class-based sessions is the one-on-one attention you get from me. I assess my students' abilities and adjust the pace of instruction to ensure they're comfortable and progressing at optimal levels. We set personalized, achievable goals and work towards achieving them together.

While I specialize in teaching adults, I work extremely well with children and would be happy to consider children as young as 4 on a case-by-case basis after extensive dialogue with their parent or guardian. For parents of younger students, your presence and involvement will be essential in the beginning stages to ensure practice is being completed correctly.
