When Phillip from Vick Audio came over to my place, he arrived ahead of schedule. Unfortunately, we ran into a problem with one of the components, so we made arrangements to get a new one. Once the replacement arrived, he promptly showed up again (early once more!) and carefully ensured that the set-up was fully functional, as well as taking the time to explain it all to me before departing.

As a result of COVID-19, I had to confront a haphazard installation by Frontier, which resulted in the "central hub" occupying my garage rather than my second-floor office. However, I reached out to Vick, and he arranged for a CAT6 Ethernet cable to be installed from my garage to my office through the attic (exposed minimally outside), providing me with a dedicated Ethernet line in my office! Although there was a scheduling issue, Philip contacted me promptly to inform me that he and his colleague would be a little late. Kudos to Sal and Philip!

Our surround sound system required some attention as the firestick was not producing sound. The professionals not only resolved this issue but also modernized my universal remote control, enabling me to toggle between options effortlessly.

I contacted Vick to assist with my home network, specifically to utilize Ethernet through multiple access points and reduce the number of devices using wireless. I already had the necessary equipment, and also needed help cleaning up our multiple networks and ensuring our devices were functioning properly. Additionally, I needed assistance applying a software filter to our router. Vick estimated a three-hour job and promised to complete the tasks even if it took longer. The good: - Vick and his associate were friendly and knowledgeable about home networking. - They were hardworking and willing to resolve any issues to my satisfaction. - They refunded a portion of my costs when they realized I wasn't entirely satisfied. The bad: - Although Vick estimated a three-hour job, they left without completing some tasks like making WiFi extenders work or installing Ethernet jacks. - Vick would text me late at night, and frequently responded slowly. - There were payment delays where Vick insisted the payment hadn't gone through, despite having sent confirmations. - Vick's communication skills in English were limited. The ugly: - Vick didn't come back to finish the job despite having set tentative dates. - In our communication, Vick was often defensive, which sometimes bordered on being argumentative and rude. I believe that Vick is a person with potential as a technician and respect him and his business. However, as a professional, he needs to improve his communication skills and set realistic expectations.
