Sonja Prychitko

With over 20 years of experience playing the violin and 15 years as a freelance strings teacher and orchestral violinist, I am a professional violinist and violin/viola teacher. I inspire my students of all ages and levels to find their musical voice by developing their technical skills and passion for music.

I provide a solid foundation of technique through practicing scales, etudes, and performing repertoire ranging from Baroque, Classical, Romantic to Modern. My students learn fundamentals such as rhythm, intonation, tone, dynamics, and bowings, which serve as the building blocks for beginning, intermediate, and advanced techniques.

In addition to honing their musical abilities, students can also expect to acquire life skills such as listening, observation, communication, discipline, patience, perseverance, creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration. For intermediate and advanced students, I offer assistance with audition preparations, chamber coachings, and collaborations with other musicians.

With the privilege of teaching students with special needs such as autism, Down syndrome, dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia, I firmly believe that anyone can learn to play an instrument and appreciate the beauty and power of music.
