Chef Monmon is a personalized chef service and catering company based in San Mateo, offering seasonal cuisine in the comfort of your home. Whether you're in the mood for an upscale four-course dinner or a family-style celebration, we've got you covered.Our services include:

A little bit about me: I'm originally from Taiwan, but love exploring bold flavors found in Chinese, Thai, and Mexican cuisine. I've worked at Michelin-starred restaurants like Saison, Angler, and Tien Xian Lou. I'm passionate about creating dishes that bring joy to people's lives. Before launching Chef Monmon, I was a professional ballroom dancer in NYC, where I attended the International Culinary Institute. Health and wellness are important to me, so I prioritize using local, organic, and natural ingredients in my cooking. As an artist at heart, I studied at Parsons School of Design and received a Bachelor's in Interior Design. I enjoy adding creativity to my food through unique flavor combinations, beautiful plating, and vibrant colors. I can't wait to share my culinary creations with you and your guests!

Working with Chef Monmon was an absolute pleasure! She was highly responsive and receptive to my ideas, and graciously accommodated all my requests, no matter how small. Chef Monmon was hired to prepare a surprise birthday dinner for my girlfriend at my home amidst social distancing. Our group consisted of eleven adults with a preference for an Asian-fusion-themed cuisine. Chef Monmon proposed a menu which we fine-tuned, and I provided wine pairing. The day went smoothly, and both Chef Monmon and her assistant arrived promptly to prepare all the food in my kitchen. We had a fantastic time with the food being absolutely delicious!!! Moreover, dietary restrictions among the participants were catered for with great flexibility. It was an unforgettable experience, and we look forward to doing it again :)

From start to finish, Monica was impeccable. She excelled as an event planner and chef, while also lending her expertise to decorating and lighting our party. The theme we chose - based on Salvador Dali's surreal dinner for his wife - required great creativity, which Monica delivered in spades. Monica was hired for our daughter's 13th birthday party to lead a cooking lesson, and all I can say is amazing! The kiddos had a blast learning new cooking skills and gained an appreciation for the time and effort that goes into making different foods. While they found it difficult to roll and cut sushi, they eventually got to enjoy the fruits of their labor with shrimp tempura, tuna sushi rolls, miso soup, and boba iced tea on the menu. Monica had everything under control, allowing us to relax in another room while she took care of all the dishes and left the kitchen clean. Not only was she efficient, but she was also engaging and fun, making the teenagers laugh throughout the party. Thanks to Monica, it was a birthday for the win! 👏👏👏
