About
I had the opportunity to study alongside Walter Greaves in Suriname, and later, at Berklee College of Music with John Ramsey, who authored the Alan Dawson Rudiments book. Before his passing, I was fortunate enough to attend classes instructed by Alan Dawson himself. As a touring musician, I have played with numerous artists across various genres encompassing South American, North American, Caribbean, and African rhythms. Learning drums can happen anywhere, but nowhere compares to the experience of learning with Harvey. As a top-tier drummer and musician, Harvey's extensive knowledge and years of experience set him apart. Moreover, his kind and patient demeanor enables him to bring out the best in his students. At times, he would introduce me to seemingly trivial exercises, which I scoffed at initially. However, years later, I found myself practicing and teaching them to my students because they produce results! I had the privilege of studying with Harvey for around seven years, during my preteen and teenage years. Even now, at 36 years old, I still remember his lessons and employ his techniques regularly when performing and instructing students. To anyone interested, I cannot recommend Harvey enough!
