With nearly a decade of experience in private music education, my name is Jacob. I hold a bachelor's degree in music composition from George Fox University and offer personalized instruction in piano, guitar, and vocal techniques, both in-person and via video conferencing.My approach to instruction goes beyond traditional methods, as I prioritize teaching skills such as chord chart reading and playing by ear to benefit those pursuing songwriting or aspiring to join a band. As a former dueling piano player, I possess an expansive collection of songs from which to draw, and prioritize incorporating student preferences alongside traditional lesson material.

Jacob is consistently punctual and prepared for his lessons. Both of my daughters find him to be an enjoyable teacher. My nervous child can be hesitant to speak and follow instructions with new people, but Jacob's personality is a perfect fit for her. He is serene, professional, and amiable, which helps put my anxious and quiet child at ease. Additionally, he possesses remarkable patience, which is invaluable when teaching beginners.
