About
Greetings, my name is Daniel and I possess a Master's degree in Education. For the past 15 years, I have been a certified Special Education teacher in the Chicagoland area with expertise in Orton Gillingham tutoring. My distinguished teaching experience includes working with a diverse range of students across various settings, ranging from 2nd graders to college students. I am passionate about teaching students who face difficulties in reading and strongly believe that an explicit or synthetic approach to phonics is fundamental in this process. Over the years, I have successfully implemented the Wilson Phonics Program and Orton-Gillingham approach, which adopts a multisensory approach to reading, phonics, and spelling. Additionally, I provide all necessary materials and prioritize building strong relationships with my students, as I consider them to be vital in their academic growth. At our organization, we also have other outstanding tutors, including several certified Orton Gillingham practitioners and an excellent ACT/SAT prep guide who equips students with the necessary tools to remain confident and composed while taking these tests. Furthermore, we also provide comprehensive tutoring services in K-12 Math and Science and can assist college students with reading comprehension and writing.

Daniel is an excellent English teacher who possesses a calm, patient and professional demeanor. At the conclusion of each English class he conducts with my son, he dutifully sends me an email summarizing the progress made during the lesson. This includes feedback on any apparent improvements, topics covered, areas that require additional work, and other pertinent information. My son holds Daniel in high regard and feels comfortable conversing with him. Prior to being tutored by Daniel, my son did not consistently compose complete sentences nor adhere to grammar rules when writing emails. However, after only three months under Daniel's tutelage, I have noticed a significant positive change in his writing abilities. Daniel is also skilled in communicating with teenagers, which is vital in promoting patience and understanding. Furthermore, my son enjoys these classes and never regards them as dull. Such an attitude symbolizes the importance this tutor has in my son's learning journey.
