My name is, and I graduated from VanderCook College of Music with a Bachelors of Music Education degree, as well as an Illinois Teaching License. During my studies, I specialized in classical guitar as my primary instrument. My love for the guitar runs deep, and I find joy in sharing that passion with others. With 15 years of experience teaching a diverse group of students at all levels, I am confident in my ability to help anyone develop their musical skills.My lessons cover a wide range of topics including proper posture, finger-picking techniques, sight-reading sheet music, understanding and playing rhythms, mastering repertoire across various genres, and improvisation. In addition to these essential skills, I also focus on nurturing musicianship, which is fundamental to any successful musician.
I typically schedule one-hour, one-on-one in-person or online lessons per week. For intermediate or advanced learners, bi-weekly lessons may be beneficial. So, whether you're a beginner looking to pick up the guitar or an experienced player aiming to take your skills to the next level, I look forward to working with you.

I have completed four lessons in a month and I am thoroughly enjoying it. My neglected guitar has been demanding my attention for years and now I can finally dedicate time to it. Shaun, my instructor, is exceptional. He is intelligent, witty, personable, and compassionate. Watching him play is captivating and if that was the extent of the class, I would be content. Although progress may be gradual, I am confident that with Shaun's guidance, I will improve.

Shaun was an exceptional tutor for starting guitar enthusiasts. Prior to our first session, I had never laid a finger on a guitar.
