Our expertise lies in creating creative, colorful, and elegant displays of both Traditional and International Cuisine. We specialize in simple elegance with an old-world charm and are up for the challenge of destination weddings. With over 15 years of experience organizing international events, we believe in the art of creating a display of delicious food that goes beyond your expectations. We use only the freshest ingredients, locally sourced from farms, ensuring that the ingredients meet the highest of standards. Additionally, our team uses their extensive training to make a variety of dishes from homemade pasta to roasted tomatoes for sauces. Our services are certain to provide you and your guests with the delicious food and professional service you deserve.

Nancy Gerbault, who has been involved with cooking for most of her life, leads our team at Abroad Catering. She became interested in cooking thanks to her father, a baker, and has since then explored the world of different tastes and flavor combinations. Her educational background includes a BA in Art & History of Art from UC Berkeley, an MA in Anthropology/Archaeology from Sac State, and a degree from Le Corden Bleu in Paris. She has lived in France and India and has worked alongside numerous award-winning chefs, including Michael Ruhlman. Nancy Gerbault added her own personal statement discussing her passion for culinary arts.

You can choose from our extensive sample menu, which includes different Hors d'Oeuvres, Salads, first courses, Main courses, Vegetarian & Vegan dishes, Cheese courses, and Desserts. Our experienced chefs use meat, seafood, and vegetables of the highest quality to create mouth-watering dishes that your guests will love.

Our team also provides cheese imported straight from France and Italy, giving you a wide selection of some of the best cheeses both countries have to offer.

Lastly, our dessert menu is to die for. It includes Individual Chocolate Cakes filled with chocolate hazelnut ganache with Raspberries, Individual Dense French Chocolate Cake, Pistachio & Meyer Lemon Cake, Cherry Clafoutis, Poached Pears in Spiced Red Wine, Lemon Tart, Chocolate Tart Cherry Mousse, and Strawberry Mousse.

For my wedding, Nancy assisted me in creating a brunch that was nothing short of perfect. I highly recommend her services and here's why. She consistently stayed in communication with me, never once complaining about the numerous emails I sent her way. Nancy demonstrated a keen ear, focusing her efforts on the important aspects while paying attention to detail in order to bring my vision to fruition. Having coffee available was very important to me for personal reasons and Nancy went above and beyond by hand-roasting the beans. Additionally, she handmade the gelato for our affogato, which was a hit amongst guests. The salmon was also incredibly delicious. However, the true highlight of the day was the cake. My late mother had made angel food cake, and Nancy made it possible for me to have it on my special day. The angel food cake that she made for David and me tasted heavenly! Furthermore, each guest had their own individual angel food cake, each of which was stunning. Our cake took my breath away, and it is something that I will cherish forever.

The event was fantastic! We had the pleasure of a friendly chef, and each meal was paired with an exquisite wine. In honor of my sister's birthday, we decided to celebrate in the "wine country", and it turned out to be a memorable occasion. The meals were served sizzling hot and fresh, and the aroma of simmering herbs was simply enchanting. I would highly recommend Nancy to anyone in the vicinity. Her menu ideas and suggestions were well-thought-out and considerate.

Usually, I'm disinterested in investing my time by partaking in surveys or evaluating the quality of goods and services. However, the gravity of the experience made it an exception to my usual routine. Nancy and her husband's contributions made our birthday celebration an unforgettable experience that will remain cherished in our memories for years to come. From the moment of their arrival, they offered us the royal treatment, and the food was nothing short of exemplary. In all sincerity, their culinary skills merit the highly coveted three Michelin stars. The appetizers, main course, and desserts were exceptionally delightful - a true testament to Nancy's talents as a chef. We highly recommend engaging their services as they are sure to impress in every way imaginable. Our wholehearted thanks go out to them for making our day extra special.

For our wedding reception of approximately 20 attendees, we secured Nancy's catering services just a few weeks before the occasion. From our initial point of contact through final delivery, Nancy provided us with the utmost professionalism, charm, and exceptional service. Despite my partner having Celiac disease and a gluten intolerance, and myself having my own dietary restrictions, Nancy remained upbeat, accommodating, and never once made us feel like we were a burden. In fact, she maintained an encouraging attitude throughout the entire process and ensured that all guests, including our vegan friends, would leave having been treated to an incredible feast. To achieve this, we requested that the entire meal be organic, gluten-free, and vegan, consisting of three hors d'oeuvres, two salads, and two main courses. The guests, even the resident vegan, were extremely complementary of the delicious food, and it added a lovely touch to our already amazing and effortless wedding experience. As a trained chef, I have an understanding of the amount of passion, skill, and dedication required for a task like this, and Nancy greatly exceeded my expectations. Her vegan poke with beets was an absolute favorite, as was her paella that was both hearty and flavorful. If ever a reason arises, or if we must fabricate one, we would not hesitate to enlist her services again. Without a doubt, selecting Nancy as our caterer was one of the most, if not the most, beneficial decisions we made when organizing our event. Thank you so much, Nancy!

The team led by Chef Nancy was remarkable! They catered a company party of 15 people and we were overjoyed with their service! The food was outstanding, cooked on-site and served with excellence. I highly recommend her for any event!
