About
Over the course of two decades, I have been fortunate to attend esteemed music institutions including New England Conservatory, Johns Hopkins University and USC, where I have had the opportunity to learn from esteemed cello teachers. Recently, I obtained my doctorate at USC's Thornton School of Music, where, for six years, I taught cello and chamber music as a teaching assistant. Presently, I am an adjunct professor at Pepperdine University while also working with La Cañada High School's middle and high school students.My love for the cello motivates my passion for teaching aspiring players of all levels. Teaching music, particularly cello, is a gratifying experience that I am passionate about. I pride myself on being a professional and supportive teacher. My greatest joy is watching my students grow in proficiency and derive pleasure from their progress each week!

For a little over two months, I have been collaborating with Javier, and it has been worth every penny. Even through Zoom, he possesses an exceptional intuition for the cello and can skillfully equip me with the necessary tools to better myself, while also demonstrating how to practice and perfect them. He is understanding and effortless to perform in front of, and an underappreciated expertise he possesses is the capacity to boost your self-assurance in your own play. Javier guides me on a journey of cello and music exploration and I look forward to continuing this relationship for a long time. We have weekly in-person sessions where we focus on cello and music theory. Every class with him is enjoyable because of his considerate guidance and instruction.
Javier's extensive knowledge and expertise help me face new challenges during our learning process, leading us to further and deeper exploration. We are fortunate to have access to a great practice room with piano and an ideal environment for our lessons.
