Smiley Paw Pet Training

After our beloved old dog passed away, my husband and I adopted two rescued dogs in 2020. Satomi at Smiley Paw has been instrumental in improving our dogs' behaviors and helping us all settle in as a family. One of our dogs spent a year and a half in foster care and received great training after being rescued from the streets, while the other was pulled from a shelter after an unknown amount of time on the streets and was terrified and refusing to interact with anyone. We have had a range of training needs that Satomi has addressed, including defensive behavior when we have visitors. Due to the current circumstances, we were limited in practicing receiving visitors for some time. However, Satomi devised a plan to address our dogs' greeting behaviors, and we have seen significant improvement! Additionally, leash and crate training have also improved significantly, with Satomi teaching us how to walk our dogs so that they walk with us rather than taking us for a walk. Satomi uses positive reinforcement to address the dogs' emotional state, and her methods are highly effective. Not only have our dogs' behaviors been modified as desired, but they are also much more confident and settled. Satomi is a pleasure to work with, communicating well and adjusting plans when necessary, and she has a gentle and steady approach when working with both the dogs and us humans.
