Drum Lessons with Andrew

For approximately 8 years, I have been drumming, and Andrew greatly enhanced my playing ability. During high school, I participated in marching and classical percussion, and later in college, I learned to play the kit. He aided me in removing the stiffness I had acquired from marching and reminded me how to enjoy music. In addition to teaching me to play the drums, Andrew acted as a coach by instilling confidence in me. I am astonished at my progress after a few months of his lessons.

It has been almost 2 years since our son began learning drums under the guidance of Andrew. We are delighted to witness his tremendous growth in musical ability, and he thoroughly enjoys his weekly 1-hour lessons with Andrew. Andrew has an exceptional talent for keeping our son motivated and identifying the perfect balance between teaching what he must learn and what he wants to learn (such as playing his favorite songs). We highly endorse Andrew as a drum instructor.

During the early stages of Covid quarantine, Andrew taught my son drums. He is a fantastic teacher, especially with kids, and provides positive feedback and motivation. Although Zoom lessons aren't easy, Andrew was able to adapt and make it work. He's a flexible and supportive instructor who is dedicated to helping you develop your drumming skills. We highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great drum teacher!

In June of 2014, I began taking lessons with Andrew. Despite being a seasoned bassist and guitarist with 35 years of experience, I recognized the need to improve my drumming skills for my role in a church band where I frequently play the drums. Although I had some basic skills, I wanted to learn the correct techniques. I am extremely satisfied with Andrew's teaching approach. He identifies areas where improvement is needed and assigns exercises that help to enhance one's drumming abilities. Furthermore, he is enthusiastic, professional, and enjoyable to work with, making him highly recommended for individuals of all skill levels.

Despite having no background in drumming prior to starting with him last year, he created a warm and comforting environment for me to learn a new skill. Andrew is remarkably skilled and considerate in the way he conducts our lessons, tailoring them to my pace and always encouraging me - even when I fail to practice. Although we only had a limited number of in-person lessons before Covid disrupted everything and we had to shift to online classes, Andrew has proven to be an excellent online educator, making the learning process just as seamless and enjoyable.
