I reached out to Hills Painting, intrigued by their plaster repair capabilities, as I needed to repair and repaint a water-damaged ceiling vent area. Additionally, I wanted to repaint a portion of a nearby ceiling due to a water stain. Though this job may have been considered small for a painting company, Marvin agreed to do it. He and his cousin arrived on Sunday and decided that repainting the entire ceiling and wall of the vent area was better, as the original paint's age may affect color matching. We agreed on a revised price, after which the cousin repaired the vent area and Marvin purchased paint. After an hour of repairing, they started painting the ceiling and wall. Upon finishing their work, I paid them. Regrettably, an hour after their departure, I noticed the ceiling stain bleeding through the paint. Conducting research online, I discovered that certain primers are meant for covering stains, including mold and mildew. The following day, they came back and applied three coats of alcohol-based primer, differing from the previous water-based primer, to address the issue. However, a lighter stain still remained, and when I reached out to Marvin, he requested an additional fee to finish the remediation. Since they came from South San Francisco to Los Altos, I decided to hire a local handyman to fully take care of the water stain. While I'm delighted with the plaster repair and the wall and ceiling painting, I'm slightly disappointed that a painting company couldn't wholly cover a ceiling stain.

Marvin and his team performed impressively. I am willing to collaborate with them anytime. What's remarkable is their flexibility in handling unexpected changes during the project's implementation phase. They were easy to negotiate with, and fairness was evidently their guiding principle. I commend them for their attention to detail, ensuring that every aspect of the job was completed before leaving the site. Overall, they are great guys who perform great work.

I was particularly grateful for the great lengths he went to in order to protect my floors and immediate surroundings. Upon completion of his work, he diligently cleaned up and removed any waste.
