Dj Ak

DJ AK was born in Cleveland, OH on January 20, 1990 with a natural interest in music. His passion for music began in 1998 when his cousin introduced him to a record by Al Green, which heavily influenced his musical preference. DJ AK has established himself within the music industry as a promoter, radio host, and general manager for Black Kush Records. He collaborated with artists such as Soulja Boy, Charlie Boy, Lil’ B, Chamillionaire, and more. At just 15 years old, DJ AK started making mixtapes for his peers. His first mixtape, "Sippin’ Syrup" Filleted & Sautéed, was heavily influenced by the Screw Music genre. His musical style draws inspiration from various influencers such as DJ Screw, OG Ron C, E Murda, DJ Michael Watts, and DJ Princess Cuts, amongst a few others. On his 16th birthday, DJ AK met his mentor, Pretty Boy Floyd, who helped him gain exposure and develop a unique skill set throughout Cleveland. He honed his skills by DJing at various high school events, most notably the annual “Heights vs. Hood” High School Basketball All-Star game. DJ AK has worked on over 20 projects and has played at over 100 events. He is eager to release his upcoming projects.
