About
Greetings, I am ChessCoachFlyn and I am a newcomer to CrackerJack. Please excuse the lack of reviews, however, more will be added soon. I have requested that the parents who review my services provide detailed feedback regarding their experiences and results, so that you can have an accurate understanding of what I offer. Each of my programs is tailored to meet the unique needs and goals of each child I work with.

The essential components for a child's success in chess are mastery of piece movement and board vision, which many kids have yet to achieve. In almost every class I teach, I see both players making illegal moves and missing opportunities to capture pieces for several moves. For beginners who are not yet at club level, improving their piece movement and board vision can significantly increase their playing strength by helping them identify opportunities to win.

After mastering these fundamental skills, the next phases that children should focus on are tactics, endgames, and basic chess strategy, in that order. The majority of losses, even among experts, are caused by tactical mistakes of fewer than three moves. Endgames require pure tactics and are a great opportunity to develop visualization skills necessary for calculation. I prioritize these skills in teaching children.

I am proud to say that my after-school chess program has produced successful results for kids. In fact, a chess school that I worked for hired me as their Chess Program Manager because of my exceptional success in teaching chess. I developed the entire school year's chess curriculum and created a video training program for instructors on effective methods for teaching children. One of my students, who initially had to be bribed to take the first lesson, eventually became enthusiastic and still continues to play today.

To be a successful coach, I engage children with a self-discovery coaching method and various effective teaching strategies. I believe that providing resources to parents, regular communication with them, and teaching them effective coaching techniques can create an environment where children succeed. I have a formal education in study technology, accelerated learning techniques, and courseware development from my sales consulting and training career, which I bring to the teaching of chess.

Flexibility is essential in coaching, and I am always willing to work with parents and students to find the best approach, even if it differs from my initial plan. My primary goal is ensuring that children succeed and improve their chess skills, rather than financial gain.

Thank you for considering my coaching services.

During an after-school chess program at his school, my son had the pleasure of meeting Coach Flyn. Excited by the program, my son expressed his desire to take lessons from Coach Flyn. With this in mind, we invited Coach Flyn to teach my son and thus began a 90-minute weekly session. As a father, I found Coach Flyn easy to work with and always willing to improve the quality of the lessons. Given that most young children aren't capable of self-guided learning, Coach Flyn invited me to partake in the lessons, hoping that I could help my son outside of the lessons. Coach Flyn emphasized the importance of understanding the fundamentals of chess, including tactics, endgames, and strategies, and focused on these topics with my son. Coach Flyn uses a "discovery" learning method that encourages the student to find the answer themselves through the use of clues, rather than just giving the answer outright. While Coach Flyn is open to working with children who don't devote their full attention to chess, he does assign weekly homework and lets the students decide how much work they'd like to do. Overall, I highly recommend Coach Flyn as a fantastic resource for parents seeking chess lessons for their children. He is great with kids and goes above and beyond in his teachings, providing extra homework and resources for his students.

If you're a parent seeking help for your child to improve their chess skills, then I highly endorse Flyn as a coach. For over 3 years, Flyn has taught classes for me after school, during summer camps, and in-house Saturday sessions. His passion and dedication to both kids and the game of chess is impressive. Combining his 30 years of experience in high-level sales training and coaching from the high-tech industry, Flyn incorporates extensive professional accelerated learning, study technology, presentation, and courseware development training into his chess coaching skills. He has also introduced remarkable teaching techniques that have helped kids develop better movement and vision for the game. At our chess center, Flyn consistently goes beyond his duties by communicating with parents to offer suggestions and aid in their child's chess development. He has a unique talent for captivating his young audience and providing outstanding results. Currently, we are in discussions to include Flyn in more of our programs. So if you're looking for an excellent coach, search no more, Flyn is the one for you. Best Regards, Ted Castro.

Thanks to Chess Coach Flyn, we've made a promising start. We brought Flyn on board because I'm convinced that playing chess has multifarious benefits for my children, including enhancing their focus, fostering serenity, boosting self-discipline, promoting mental agility, developing reasoning skills, and stimulating logical thinking. I'm convinced that these advantages will last a lifetime. Before the first class, my kids were exhausted and resistant to learning how to play chess. I informed Flyn of this beforehand and expressed my hopes that he could pique their interest. However, thanks to Flyn's engaging nature and didactic methods, my kids changed their minds about the game after just one lesson and expressed a newfound enthusiasm for chess. Flyn has a phenomenal talent for working with children and creating an environment in which they're motivated to pay attention and actively participate. In fact, during the third lesson, my children played part of a chess game against each other and executed every move perfectly, which is remarkable for beginners. Flyn commented that even players who have been playing for a while often make movement errors, so their progress was impressive. I am thrilled at the progress my children have made under Flyn's tutelage. It's so heartening to see how proud and confident they are when they tell me about the things they've learned after the lessons. I am immensely grateful for Flyn's dedication and feel fortunate to have found such an exceptional teacher who introduced my children to the joys of playing chess. I look forward to continuing with Flyn and wholeheartedly recommend him to other parents without any reservations.
