Mandarin Tutoring

For 8 months now, my 5 and 8-year-old have been under the tutelage of Lillian. I'm delighted with their progress and enthusiasm for learning about Chinese language and culture. Lillian expertly captures their attention and sustains their interest while teaching. As a result, they can now engage in simple conversations with Chinese speakers and always impress with their accuracy. I would strongly encourage any parent seeking to introduce their children to Chinese at a young age to work with Lillian.

For over a year now, Lillian has been my language tutor and I can confidently say that she's the best! Besides being an expert on language and culture, her teaching approach is notably professional and effective. Furthermore, her patience and willingness to answer my questions never cease to make me feel appreciated and motivated. Lillian's enthusiasm for teaching makes me feel cheered and encouraged, and I received much more than just language teaching from her support. I love how she makes learning Chinese fun and engaging, as if we were friends practicing together. Lillian even sings Chinese songs with me, and shares her homemade Chinese food, which makes my learning experience enjoyable. Although I was initially intimidated about starting a new language, Lillian's positivity made the process much smoother - I feel like I've made progress and am genuinely enjoying it!

Since the onset of the Covid pandemic, I have been a student under Lillian's tutelage. In July 2022, when I embarked on a business trip to Taiwan, I was filled with joy upon realizing my ability to engage in basic conversations and carry out enjoyable activities such as ordering and paying for food at the night markets. Accompanied by a friend and his young children, I even managed to converse with the little ones about the various animals we encountered during our visit to Taipei Zoo.

For the past three months, my son has been receiving lessons from Youlian and we are extremely pleased with his progress. Despite the virtual format, the lessons remain captivating and stimulating. My son eagerly anticipates each class and takes pleasure in practicing. Without hesitation, I would strongly endorse Youlian as a tutor.

Youlian is amazing! What I love most about her teaching is that I began speaking right from the first session. She adheres to the Berlitz curriculum, which is well-crafted, but she also incorporates additional exercises for proper pronunciation and Pinyin practice, which has greatly improved my communication with my Chinese peers.
