In May, she carried out a trial session with me and attentively followed my instructions, nailing about 90% of my preferences on the first try. I provided her with a tiny bit of feedback, and she made the necessary adjustments until I was completely satisfied with the outcome. On my wedding day, Frances performed with the same meticulousness and attention to detail she displayed during the trial. She not only did a fantastic job on my makeup and hair but also made my bridesmaids look stunning. Additionally, she went above and beyond by applying some light makeup for my mom, who had a bit of a meltdown on the morning of the ceremony, even though she wasn't scheduled to have her makeup done. Frances's professionalism, kindness, and exceptional skills make her a top-notch beauty artist. Starting off, I would like to commend Frances on her professionalism and amiable personality. She portrayed herself very well. Her website is professionally executed, and her appointment booking system and deposit requirement reflect her organizational skills, which is very impressive. I would rate her an A+ for these aspects. Unfortunately, during the makeup trial for my wedding, the final look didn't come out as expected. I had the exact look I wanted in mind, and the result achieved was far off from it. It could be that I'm very particular or knowledgeable about makeup since I keep up with current trends and techniques on makeup application. I believe that Frances needs to improve on her makeup products. The final look made my skin appear greasy and dewy, and my eyebrows looked droopy. She only used a brush without any other utensils to shape them, which didn't work for me. My eyes looked tired, and after three hours of her working on my makeup, I had to spend more time fixing it for my birthday. The look was unfinished and not as I envisioned. Frances appears skilled in carrying out basic makeup looks, but not with dramatic dark or colorful looks. I requested a chunky gold glitter inner eye and received a cheap nude shimmer instead. When I asked for a Smokey black eye, I got a light brown Smokey eye that didn't work well with my eyes. My eyebrows ended up looking powdery instead of tightly lined, which I'm used to. I agree that the poor outcome could be a result of using lower quality products. Frances could benefit from taking some technique classes as well. I'm sorry to say, but due to her skill level and product quality, I was embarrassed to show my kids and had higher expectations considering her high prices. I am used to using Estée Lauder, Makeup Forever, and Bobbi Brown, which deliver such better outcomes. I apologize for the negative review, but I need to be honest. However, I want to acknowledge that Frances' appointment booking and deposit system is something other makeup artists could learn from. Additionally, her website is top-notch. I respect Frances for her sweet and beautiful personality, but I need a makeup artist that can produce what I request. I suggest Frances to try different palette varieties, maybe through a subscription to boxycharm. She is always welcome to use my own products so that she can witness the difference higher quality goods make.
