About
My journey with yoga began a decade ago, and I have been imparting my knowledge on Ashtanga yoga for five years now. The year 2018 marked a significant achievement, as I was authorized to teach Ashtanga yoga in Mysore, India by Sharath Jois, who holds the lineage of Ashtanga yoga. I spent the last five years in Bali, Indonesia, practicing and imbibing the teachings of yoga. The method I follow for teaching Ashtanga yoga is inspired by the traditional practice, wherein postures are taught gradually while focusing on alignment, modifications, and progression. This method is especially good for beginners, and I function better in one-on-one sessions, ensuring that I cater to each individual's practice.
Ashtanga yoga is a dynamic practice that continually enhances strength and flexibility if practiced consistently.
If you have never tried Ashtanga yoga before, then fret not as everyone starts as a beginner. I aspire to share my knowledge and experience of yoga and impart the teachings in the same way my teachers did for me.

In all honesty, Ashtanga yoga has always intimidated me. I was afraid that I wouldn't be capable of performing even half of the asanas, so I never attempted it. That all changed when I started practicing with Catherine. Her approach to Ashtanga completely transformed my perception of this type of yoga. Her teaching was non-judgmental and effortless, and her calming voice only added to the atmosphere.
I appreciated how she constantly reminded me to take five even inhalations and exhalations for each pose so that I could stay connected to my breath throughout the practice. Another aspect that I loved about Catherine was her emphasis on proper alignment. This required me to remain focused throughout, which I find deeply fulfilling.
Her vast knowledge was also something that I valued. Hearing about her experiences practising in Mysore, India, and how she discovered Ashtanga was truly inspiring. What I learned from her was that Ashtanga yoga is a lifelong practice, and it never neglects any part of the body or organ - this was very empowering.
