About
As a Portuguese teacher for over 25 years, I hail from Bahia(Salvador), a region of rich heritage with culture, beaches, cuisine, music and carnival. I hold a degree in Languages, specializing in Portuguese and English Literature, from the Catholic University of Salvador. Having lived in the USA for 18 years, I have been instrumental in implementing, developing and teaching the Portuguese language. My vast experience and skills have resulted in the exponential growth and success of various students, schools, Military bases, government civilians, FBI, Special Forces, National Guard, and organizations that I have collaborated with. My teaching technique involves a holistic approach that encompasses conversation, grammar, reading, and writing to ensure my students feel confident and fluent in their second language. I incorporate additional tools like videos, articles, songs, and support materials to enhance the learning experience.
Over the years, I have taught students of different ages, and nothing gives me more satisfaction than to witness them speak, write, and read Portuguese with ease.
My passion, dedication, and expertise in teaching Portuguese remain unwavering, and I look forward to welcoming you to my course, where I can help you learn Portuguese.

I strongly endorse Cleide as an excellent Portuguese instructor. Prior to embarking on a road trip from Rio to São Paulo in Brazil, I granted myself a 3-month period to familiarize myself with rudimentary Portuguese. Thanks to Cleide's guidance, I felt adequately prepared to communicate effectively and navigate my way. I had a wonderful experience. Through learning, I acquired greater comprehension skills in Portuguese conversations. Being a native Spanish speaker, it was challenging to distinguish words with similar spellings but divergent meanings, thereby intensifying the difficulty of learning Portuguese. Nevertheless, the process was enjoyable.
