About
Immersed in music for more than 30 years, I possess 14 years of teaching experience, hailing from New York. Musical training began at Mannes Pre-College, followed by attendance at the LaGuardia High School of Music, Art and Performing Arts. A Master's in Music from Boston Conservatory and a Bachelor's from the Hartt School of Music complete my educational background. Certified in Suzuki Violin from the School for Strings while accepting both traditional violin and Suzuki students, I'm an active freelancer with notable performances at Merkin Hall, National Gallery of the Arts, and the Apollo Theater. I aim to create a welcoming and nurturing environment for my students by tailoring each lesson plan based on individualized need. With a specific focus on technique, sound production, and musicality, my primary goal is to help my students discover their unique musical voice on the violin or piano as both young and old learners experience the fun and enjoyment of their musical journey.

In my experience, Ms. Allison has been an exceptionally conscientious and proficient teacher. She possesses a talent for fostering the growth of her students, and manages to achieve this without any unnecessary severity, making for an effortlessly enjoyable learning experience. Her gentle and patient demeanor promotes a more seamless and fluid absorption of knowledge, and I would confidently encourage anyone interested in gaining proficiency in Violin or Piano to seek her guidance. In my personal opinion, Ms. Allison surpasses all other educators I have worked with, earning the title of the best among them.

For approximately four years, I have received tutelage from Allison McNeal. Our repertoire includes the Suzuki books ranging from 4 to 7, and exposure to other violin literature. I never expected to exhibit such prowess! Allison, I am grateful to you!

The teacher who taught our daughter from grade 1 to 8 was a professional, calm, and respectful educator. She was never intimidating and always accommodated her students when necessary. Our daughter never wished to skip her class, thanks to the teacher's ability to create a mutual, respectful, and productive relationship.

Allison is an exceptional violin instructor! As a new college alum with zero previous exposure to the violin, I sought a teacher who could facilitate my fast-paced education while preventing me from feeling overwhelmed. Allison exhibits remarkable expertise and understanding as an instructor, as she balances her boundless patience with an unwavering desire to elevate my playing skills. She approaches every lesson with an affable, motivating attitude, making me eager to attend each session.
