As our children have grown older, so have their interests and playroom requirements. To address this, we enlisted Mariela Diaz-Porras from Inspiring Spaces to help us declutter and reorganize the playroom, making it more accessible and manageable for our children. Mariela was fantastic with the kids, demonstrating patience, humour, and a keen attention to detail, while also providing educational insight through bilingual conversations. Together, we prioritized and let go of unnecessary items, discovering forgotten treasures in the process, all with minimal stress and disturbance. Mariela brought a range of organizing options and advised us on the best use of space, while remaining respectful of our vision and preferences. In fact, she encouraged our daughter to create custom labels for her play kitchen, which Mariela then laminated and applied with care. By involving our children in the decluttering and organizing process, they now take ownership and responsibility for the system and feel empowered to maintain it. Throughout the project, Mariela remained in constant communication, was consistently responsive, and exhibited remarkable flexibility when scheduling had to be adjusted due to illness. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we are already considering which part of our home we might ask Mariela to assist with next.
