About
Hello, my name is Sandra and I am a certified dog trainer, behavior consultant, and pet sitter. I use humane and evidence-based methods and am a proud member of the Pet Professional Guild (PPG) and the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT). I own my own business, Benny's Best Dog Training, which you can find on Google and Nextdoor.I have been working with dogs for 10 years, beginning as a dog handler, pet sitter, and overnight caretaker in New York City. I have also worked and volunteered at various rescues in NYC and Phoenix. Currently, I volunteer as a handler, trainer, and behavior consultant.
As a pet sitter, I have experience with all breeds of dogs and am comfortable with dogs of all sizes, ages, and temperaments. I specialize in working with anxious, reactive, and aggressive dogs. In addition to dogs, I am happy to care for cats, geckos, hamsters, tarantulas, teacup pigs, and pygmy goats.
When pet sitting, I can take your active dog on hikes and runs or spend time snuggling with your more laid-back pooch. I am also comfortable administering medication and performing other house-sitting duties such as picking up mail, watering plants, and taking out garbage. I am insured, bonded, first aid certified, and provide daily picture updates.
As I have my own somewhat dog-selective dogs, I prefer to pet sit in the pet owner's home to minimize stress and disruption to the pet's routine. I have a flexible schedule and my services can be customized to fit your needs.
Whenever I take a dog for a walk, I use two points of safety to ensure that they do not slip out of their equipment. Additionally, I conduct regular perimeter walks to ensure that your yard is secure. Please note that I charge 2x the listed price for full-time care and there is a $10 charge for each additional pet.

Having had negative experiences with pet sitters in the past, we were apprehensive to entrust our anxious dog Bodie to someone new. His severe separation anxiety and history of biting made the situation even more challenging.
Sandra, however, proved to be an excellent choice. She not only stayed with Bodie on several occasions but also worked with him as a trainer. Sandra's compassionate and responsive nature, as well as her impeccable professionalism, left our house in pristine condition every time. We appreciated her updates, including pictures and videos that showed our dog having a good time.
