About
Hello! I'm Kevin, and I have over 20 years of experience playing classical violin. I hold music degrees in violin performance from Yale University and Rice University, and I'm also the music director and conductor of the New Haven Chamber Orchestra.

I believe in setting high standards for my students while maintaining a friendly and patient manner. I've been teaching violin since a young age, and my experience has taught me the importance of approachability in teaching. I aim to avoid the unpleasantness some teachers exude, and instead create an environment in which students can thrive.

To help my students succeed, I stress the fundamentals of violin technique. As many students have bad habits, I work hard to instill a solid understanding of the basics so they can conquer any challenge and become self-sufficient learners.

I also make sure to keep my students engaged by providing interesting and active lessons. I hate hearing about how other teachers bore their students, and strive to prevent that from happening in my classroom.

Teaching is my passion, and I feel honored to inspire and educate both young and old musicians. It's especially gratifying to watch my students grow over time and make huge strides in their playing.

Kevin is an exceptional teacher who pays extraordinary attention to details. My daughter feels at ease with him, as he motivates and inspires her while gently guiding her to correct her mistakes. Kevin has a remarkable level of patience, and I believe that with his expertise, he can help my daughter achieve her desired level of violin playing proficiency while building her confidence for future performances.

Kevin was our violin instructor for approximately one year, and my daughter really enjoyed his teaching style. Despite his young age, he displayed remarkable patience with his students, which greatly impacted my 7-year-old. We didn't mind the long one-hour commute to attend his lessons. However, we were devastated when he had to leave the state for school. Although there were several violin teachers available in town, we knew it would be challenging to find the perfect fit. If you have the opportunity to be taught by Kevin, consider yourself fortunate! We hope you have a similar experience to the one we had while learning from him.

I engaged in private violin classes with Kevin during a couple of summers so as to get ready for my auditions for the local orchestra. Kevin was exceedingly supportive and amiable. Moreover, during intermissions, he was always reachable in case of any need to rebook.

This instructor is both helpful and patient. They ensure that I don't pick up bad habits and go through lessons at a suitable pace. They are ideal for beginners learning the instrument. In fact, their lessons have only fueled my desire to play the violin even more.

My 6-year-old daughter is a beginner at playing the violin and requires a patient teacher who can guide her through the process. Fortunately, we found someone who fits the bill perfectly. She enjoys the lessons thoroughly, and thanks to our punctual and detail-oriented teacher, she is making rapid progress.
