About
Making music is my passion, and I thoroughly enjoy sharing it with students of all ages. As a teacher, I am known for being warm and supportive, creating an environment where everyone feels at ease. With over 25 years of piano study and performance, and over 15 years of vocal study and performance, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to each lesson. Additionally, I have a Bachelor's degree in Music Education, two years of experience at a Broadway musical theatre performance college, and experience as an accompanist and singer for events and weddings.My lessons are tailored to each individual's goals and needs, whether it be preparing for an audition or simply learning for fun. In addition to teaching piano and voice, I have also helped many students prepare monologues and songs for various auditions. My teaching style is flexible and accommodating, and I am able to work well with both children and adults of all levels. I am passionate about helping each student achieve their musical dreams, whether they are beginners or advanced musicians.
I teach all styles of music, from classical to R&B and pop, and my students enjoy two recitals a year. I take immense pride in watching my students grow and succeed, and it is incredibly rewarding seeing the excitement and fulfillment that comes with learning something new. Trudy possesses the utmost patience and is an invested, caring, and multi-talented individual (she has an incredible singing voice!). When my two daughters began taking piano lessons simultaneously, I expressed my one-year goals to Trudy. Within six months, she surpassed my expectations by teaching the girls to read music and compose their own songs. Trudy was considerate in providing each "tween-age" girl with unique songs to learn, avoiding repetition between siblings. She instilled music theory early on, a trait I never encountered during my own music education. The girls adored Trudy, and it saddens us that she relocated. My happiest moments involve watching my girls run to the piano to replicate a song they heard on the radio. They possess fundamental music theory, knowledge of classical pieces, and cherish Trudy and her family’s time spent with them.
