However, the contractor's refusal to accept credit card or CrackerJack secure... read more payment caused a delay in the job as we had to pay in cash. When we attempted to proceed with the project, the contractor did not respond for two weeks despite multiple attempts. We suspected the contractor had abandoned us until they responded with a new estimate that was over 70% higher, citing material cost increases. When questioned, the contractor changed their reasoning and instead claimed that the price surge was due to labor. I even shared that I had completed the same job myself earlier for less than $100 worth of materials, causing the contractor to backtrack. Considering this unprofessional behavior, I plan to either complete the project on my own or search for a more reliable contractor who is consistently responsive and transparent with their pricing. Additionally, as I attempted to find more information about the contractor, I found no additional details except for the CrackerJack listing. Customers should exercise caution. read less"
