When we attempted to proceed with the project, the contractor did not respond for two weeks despite multiple attempts. We suspected the contractor had abandoned us until they responded with a new estimate that was over 70% higher, citing material cost increases. When questioned, the contractor changed their reasoning and instead claimed that the price surge was due to labor. I even shared that I had completed the same job myself earlier for less than $100 worth of materials, causing the contractor to backtrack. Considering this unprofessional behavior, I plan to either complete the project on my own or search for a more reliable contractor who is consistently responsive and transparent with their pricing. Additionally, as I attempted to find more information about the contractor, I found no additional details except for the CrackerJack listing. Customers should exercise caution. read less"
