Installing a new white heavy duty moisture barrier in our crawl space, Glenn and his team performed an outstanding task. Glenn inspected our crawl space and assessed the moisture level in the floor joists on February 10th, which was recorded to be 11.2%. He informed us that the percentage could increase to 15-16% during the summer months. Glenn's recommendation was to set up a drainage system and sump pump to eliminate stagnant water in our sloped crawl space. We inquired about additional procedures that could assist, and he suggested a 10 mil poly to further reduce moisture content. As we had recently purchased the property, we favored a long-term method and elected to proceed with both options. Their quote was fair, and we scheduled the job. Fortunately, they had a space open and were able to book us in right away. Jacob and Junior were our installation team, and they arrived on Wednesday and finished in only three days. We were ecstatic with the outcome. Over the first two days of the installation, I visited the site several times to ask questions and observe the process. Jacob and Junior were incredibly cooperative and would pause their work to respond to my queries and walk me through each step. It was clear that they had great respect and passion for their profession and the materials they used. They started with the essential installation of the drainage system and sump pump, tapping it into our exterior gutter line upon our request to channel the water away from the building. We also received the 10 mil poly covering, including wrapping the pillars and extending up to the sidewalls, 3-5 inches beneath the sill plate, and then secured it with aluminum bars and adhesive. Following completion of the job, I used a $35 moisture meter from Lowes to verify the moisture level in the same floor joists we had tested last week. The moisture level had already decreased 1% from the initial reading. Fantastic work! We wholeheartedly recommend Crawlspace Medic!
