About
Robert Gallagher is an ideal instructor for both children and professional musicians seeking to improve their knowledge and skills in music. With vast experience in various musical styles, including classical, rock, jazz, finger-style, blues, and metal, Robert Gallagher began learning music at the age of eight and has been honing his skills since then. Robert has taught music both during his college years while studying classical and jazz guitar and afterwards, having received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University in 1988. He has also studied under the guidance of several well-known music professors including Carol Kaye, Wolf Marshall, and many others.Robert currently teaches private music lessons from his studio in Huntington Woods, Michigan, and is part-time faculty at Schoolcraft College in Livonia, Michigan. He has been recognized as a repeat winner of Detroit's A-list and WDIV's Vote 4 the Best contest, with over 30 years of teaching experience. Robert teaches not only guitar technique but also electric bass, mandolin, ukulele, and banjo, and his students have gone on to become professional musicians and instructors themselves.

Robert Gallagher is my guitar instructor, and I've just started taking lessons with him. My aim is to become proficient at reading music and playing my beloved songs. Surprisingly, after just three weeks, I've already mastered one of them! Robert exudes positivity and enthusiasm, and he is genuinely invested in the progress of his pupils. I can wholeheartedly endorse Robert as a guitar teacher, as he is not just an excellent instructor but also an accomplished guitarist. Without a doubt, he is Michigan's premier guitar tutor, and I believe every penny spent on his tuition is well worth it.

Up to this point, my collaboration with Robert has been thoroughly enjoyable. He demonstrates a high level of professionalism and takes a genuine interest in your aspirations as a musician. When I first started, my ability to play basic chords was feeble and my musical knowledge was limited. Fortunately, he took the time to correct my technique for playing and holding the guitar. As a result, I feel like I'm experiencing tremendous growth with every lesson, which makes me feel excited to continue practicing. I believe he is an exceptional instructor, who can handle a variety of musical genres. If I'm being candid, I would be willing to give up my cable subscription every month to continue taking his lessons. I'm grateful for all the assistance he has provided me.
