SPECDRUM - BOB BELANSKI

Greetings! I am Bob Belanski, a professional drummer, composer, producer, and teacher who currently offers only online or remote classes. I have been imparting my knowledge to students for more than forty years and I enjoy it immensely. My passion for drumming and teaching has led me to study with renowned drummers such as James Sewrey, founder of the "Percussive Arts Society," and many others.

My teaching system includes reading music for snare and drum set in various styles, including Concert, Rock, Jazz, Big Band, Latin, and Recording. I take pleasure in providing my students with information and demonstrating proper technique which can help them become the best drummer.

Many of my students have become part of various Youth Symphonies, such as the Marin County Youth Symphony Orchestra, The Oakland Youth Symphony, and the San Jose Youth Symphony, among others. Some of them have even pursued a professional career in music or become music teachers themselves, like the well-known names of Tom Kosik who played for the Chicago Symphony, Sikand Srinivas who is both an excellent drummer and animator, and Michael Passaris who currently teaches at "Mozart, Einstein, and Me" in Benicia, California. Brady Fishler also teaches at his own Drum Studio, "Brady's Drum Studio" in Campbell, California.

I have an album called "Bob Belanski's Specdrum," PUESTA DEL SOL, where I have included five of my original songs. I have also recorded jingles and commercials for radio and TV and was an On-Call Drummer for Fantasy Records, Berkeley, California.

I have had the pleasure of playing and traveling with many bands such as "The Glen Miller Orchestra" directed by Buddy De Franco, "The Joe Henderson Legacy Big Band" directed by Warren Gale Jr, Trumpet Virtuoso, and "The El Paso Symphony Orchestra." I have also played with different musicians such as Cal Tjader in Latin Music, The Drifters in R&B, John Handy on Saxophone, Tom Harrel, and Chet Baker on Jazz Trumpets, and Steve Turre of the "NBC Saturday Night Live Orchestra" on Trombone.
