At Las Positas College in Livermore, California, I instruct in both English and martial arts. Specifically, I focus on enhancing students' reading comprehension abilities, their competency in composing essays (including the development of thesis statements, sentence and paragraph structure, as well as the proper use of MLA and APA styles), and their analytical and critical thinking skills. For those who are further along in their studies, I offer more comprehensive lessons in literature analysis and rhetoric.
Regarding martial arts, I teach Setchu Ryu Jujutsu, which involves a combination of techniques from Japanese jujutsu (employing small joint manipulation, chokes, and throws), Filipino Martial Arts (incorporating the use of knives, sticks, and hand-to-hand combat), and Hawaiian Lua (including additional unique elements).
