Greetings! My name is Michael Mott, and I work as a musical theatre composer/lyricist and voice teacher situated in midtown Manhattan. I received my BFA Musical Theatre Performance degree from Ithaca College and currently hold an Advanced Membership in the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Writers Workshop.
As a voice teacher, I focus on nurturing vocal health, song interpretation, and performance. I offer both in-person and online sessions and, for a limited duration, provide a 45-minute virtual introductory lesson at a nominal fee of $85 USD. My private one-on-one sessions are personalized and designed to cater to the unique needs of every student. We begin by listening to and assessing the student's current level and needs. After that, we discuss specific goals, and I curate a personalized warm-up routine that targets weak areas, improves technique, and develops a healthy and flexible voice capable of longevity in the industry.
Numerous Broadway performers have been my students, including those who featured in shows such as "Aladdin," "Chicago," "Hamilton," and "Moulin Rouge," among others. Moreover, I am always honored to witness my students grow in confidence over time and see them develop healthy vocal habits that become second nature onstage or in the recording studio.

It's incredible how much he is able to uncover within me as we collaborate on building a vocal technique that really lets my voice soar. Not only can he expertly identify any vocal issues I may have, but he also has the exceptional ability to communicate the right solution using language I can understand.
