Greetings everyone! I hope this correspondence finds you all well. My name is Junling and I am a professional pianist employed by both the Boston Conservatory at Berklee and the Boston Ballet. With over 20 years of experience, I hold a Master's Degree in Piano Performance. Although I adore performance, my true passion lies in teaching the piano.
A teaching artist is both a practitioner of their craft and an educator. As an artist, one is constantly exploring, analyzing, and refining their skills. As an educator, one must also expand their knowledge base and tweak their abilities to be a valuable source of knowledge to their students. Balancing these two occupations is an ongoing process that requires a deep awareness of the reciprocal impact that education and artistry have on each other.
I strive to improve as an instructor by educating students with varying musical preferences such as Classical, Jazz, Pop, or Broadway, and helping them achieve their musical goals. I firmly believe that fostering a strong bond with my students is paramount in effective teaching. After experiencing a life-changing mentor, my love for playing the piano became intertwined with my passion for teaching. I aim to replicate my teacher's techniques and share this beautiful experience with my current students and future learners for the rest of my life.
