I regularly perform at Carnegie Hall alongside the Orchestra of St. Luke's, have collaborated with David Bowie for his album Heathen, and have taken part in numerous chamber and contemporary music concerts while always residing in New York City. While studying under Jascha Heifetz's protégé Erick Friedman for my BM and MM at Manhattan School of Music, as well as with Charlie Castleman at The Quartet Program and Chris Lee, concertmaster of NJ Symphony, my approach to teaching stems from my experiences as a performing musician in NYC. Working alongside exceptional players has allowed me to distinguish what resources are consistent among them and disregard what may be unique to my various mentors.
My teachings fundamentally center on utilizing proper body mechanics to prevent injury. It's never too late to abandon bad habits, and beginners are especially encouraged to start off on the right foot. Playing proficiently in one's twenties differs significantly from comprehensive injury prevention skills learned in one's fifties. My lessons are open to all ages of beginners, young professionals preparing for audition, and the elderly inspired to pursue their curiosities.
