Prior to my daughter's Graduation Party, DOJO made certain to communicate ahead of time about our preferred songs/music. He arrived early to set up his equipment and conduct a sound check. DOJO was tasked with curating music that captured the spirit of the 1930s, 1950s, and 1970s for my Mother's 100th Centennial Birthday Gala Celebration in 2021. This was the music that my parents danced to, courted each other with, and created ten of us with. Jazz and gospel were the genres specifically requested, but the marvelous playlist that DOJO ultimately crafted contained songs from across the musical spectrum. He even included personal greetings from over 75 of our family members to be intermixed with the music. DOJO's playlist was electrifying, featuring classics from Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, Harry Connick Jr., Nina Simone, Lena Horne, Mahalia Jackson, and Bob Marley - including some lesser-known delights. He also included tunes from modern singers who pay homage to the great singers before them. Even the younger audience members were impressed! DOJO's excellent work has captivated our ears once and we are already eagerly planning for him to join us again on future occasions. I heartily recommend DOJO as a talent who will help elevate the music and the energy of any event. Many thanks to DOJO for your hard work and for making our mother's celebration so memorable. Pamela
