With more than a decade of experience providing private voice lessons, I have refined an individualized approach to teaching vocal technique. I believe in achieving the "maximum natural" by merging technical expertise with vivid imagery, enabling students to sing freely and efficiently in their own unique voices. As a holder of a Bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance from the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University and a full member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, I continue to sharpen my skills through attending workshops and learning from my private coach.
My studio welcomes male and female students, aged 10 and above, with a range of skills, from uninitiated beginners to professionals and hobbyists. I've coached singers preparing for classical and music theater auditions, and aspiring choral performers-both paid and volunteer. I've also helped students gain acceptance into college and university music programs.
Our journey as a teacher and student begins with posture and breathing techniques, then progresses to personalized lessons that play to the student's strengths while addressing areas for development, and meeting short- and long-term objectives.
Working collaboratively, we craft practice plans to guide progress between lessons, identify and work with suitable repertoire, and develop performance opportunities that reinforce the student's growth both inside and outside the studio.
It is a pleasure to witness the moment when a student can recognize and rectify their own errors. I work towards this goal, spending hours together with students, preparing them to be self-reliant in perfecting their craft, whether in the studio, at home, or on stage.
